The funky Factoria Joven (“youth manufacturing unit”) skate park in Merida, Spain opened this earlier March. Since then, energetic youngsters have been biking, skating, climbing on and throughout the undulating curves and brightly-colored buildings of the inviting and artistic difficult, designed by Madrid-based SelgasCano Architects.

The thought was first launched in 2006 by Carlos Javier Rodríguez Jiménez, a bodily education teacher  who studied the humanization of metropolis areas, and four collaborators. Along with the surface choices, the developing houses a laptop lab and a dance studio, along with meeting rooms and areas used for for street theater, video and digital music, and even graffiti. We hope American metropolis planners and educators will see this and take discover.
