Part of Marin Living: Home Tours, House on the Bay, designed by Italian architect Andrea Ponsi with Jensen Architects as architect on document, sits on the prime shore of Tiburon Bay in California. Given its waterfront location, the home descends in the direction of the seashore with delicate modifications within the elevation.
The roof is roofed in a standing seam copper that may climate naturally over time, as will the Ipe rainscreen facade.
Horizontal strains play a big half within the design of the house with picket slats masking the outside and the photo voltaic glass panels overlaying the walkways.
The design consists of 4 distinct pavilions that type off of an open, inside courtyard and artwork gallery. The courtyard extends the inside area with the location of huge sliding glass doorways and home windows that utterly open the area up. The similar goes for the waterfront deck.
The broad hallways are full of solar from the inside courtyard and the window-lined exterior partitions of the home. Wooden slats assist with offering shade from the direct solar.
