The C6 by prefab agency LivingHomes in collaboration with Make It Proper and architect William McDonough, is the first lower-worth, zero-energy, zero-carbon and LEED Platinum® diploma manufacturing residence (wow).
Debuting at Modernism Week & the Upcoming TED 2012 Convention, the C6 was designed as part of a model new partnership with Make It Proper, the nonprofit based mostly by Brad Pitt after Hurricane Katrina, and renowned architect William McDonough. The collaboration will ship 100 fifty Cradle to Cradle impressed LEED Platinum homes in New Orleans’ Decrease Ninth Ward, with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each C6 to help assist the efforts of Make It Proper.
This A-mattress room, P-tub, 1232-sq.-foot residence is right for a small family or couple. Its design is impressed by the California homes created by Joe Eichler inside the 50s and 60s with its open flooring plan. Every residence consists of cork flooring, picket ceiling millwork and siding, glass doorways and flooring-to-ceiling glass house home windows along with a full-perform lighting administration system that’s iPhone-managed.
Furthermore, the C6 is the first Power Star® licensed manufacturing residence with a LEED Platinum diploma environmental program. It achieves some implausible beliefs and models a model new commonplace for prefab dwelling by being zero energy, zero water, zero emissions, zero carbon, and zero waste. That’s pretty spectacular. Let’s hope that homebuilders in all places can take observe.
