DavidClovers completed a renovation of a Hong Kong condominium using a mixture of fluid varieties in picket and white accented by lighting.
From the architects:
Nestled amongst a forest of towers on Previous Peak Street above Central Hong Kong, the Tregunter tower holds distinctive layered views of Victoria Harbor. The abundance of bay residence home windows, structural partitions and beams which could be widespread to residential towers would appear to constrain the probabilities of the condominium. Nevertheless, by turning constraints into options, davidclovers re-works the volumes of this apartment by means of using the ceiling and the bottom. Subtly elongating, pressing upward, and sloping downward, the ceiling produces variable sensations of compression and enlargement – making the rental seem greater than it is, drawing delicate strains that separate consuming from dwelling. Skillfully dodging and maneuvering spherical air-conditioning fashions and structural beams, the ceiling integrates artificial delicate and quite a few provides – re-orienting the home in the direction of the surface.
The minimal use of picket and plaster shift the elevation of the condominium (typically on the partitions) to the horizontal surfaces – enhancing the outward/upward thrust of the ceiling. Cupboards painted white, thicken and take up storage, leisure methods and mix bench seating. Supplies are used three-dimensionally all by way of the condominium. Wooden rotates from flooring and ceilings to partitions inside the kitchen and mosaic tiles brighten in the direction of house home windows inside the loos making the illumination from house home windows seem even brighter.
